Nutriera Group and Lesaffre signed a Strategic Cooperation Agreement at the Third China International Import Expo (CIIE)
On Nov. 9, 2020, a strategic cooperation signing ceremony was held by Nutriera Group and Lesaffre at the 3rd CIIE at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai, China. Dr. Zhang Song, Vice President of Nutriera Group, Mr. Jean-Philippe Poulin, President of China region of Lesaffre, Mr. Lin Sheng, Manager of Aquatic Business of Lesaffre, and officials from Shanghai attended the ceremony.

The CIIE is the world’s first national expo with import theme. It was initiated by President Xi Jinping at Yanqi Lake in Beijing in May 2017 and the first CIIE was successfully held in Shanghai in November 2018. The CIIE is organized by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China and the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government, cooperated by WTO, UNDP, UNCTAD, FAO, UNIDO and ITC. The CIIE is a major measure taken by China to firmly support trade liberalization and economic globalization, and actively open markets to the world. It has established an open cooperation platform for countries around the world to show their national images and carry out international trade.
On Nov. 4, President Xi Jinping delivered a keynote speech via video. He emphasized that all countries should work together to promote openness for win-win cooperation, shared responsibility and cooperative governance. He also declared that China will uphold the belief in openness, cooperation, unity and win-win, and steadfastly expand all-round opening up to turn the China market into a global market, a market shared by all, and a market accessible to all, which can promote the recovery of the global economy and bring more positive energy to the global community.

Despite the impact of COVID-19 pandemic, the 3rd CIIE still has many highlights. The exhibition area has expanded nearly 30,000 square meters and the average exhibition area has increased 14% compared to last year. Over 70% of the global top 500 companies and industry leaders have joined the CIIE for more than once. The number of exhibitors and participants reached 400,000.

As a global leading company in the fermentation industry, Lesaffre signed a letter of intent before the opening of the second CIIE, and became the first batch of enterprises to book a booth at the 3rd CIIE. During the opening speech at the signing ceremony, Mr. Jean-Philippe Poulin said that Nutriera Group is a leading high-tech and international enterprise that specializes in aquatic premix and provides integrated solutions and services for aquafeed enterprises around the world. Nutriera’s products cover 26 provinces in China and more than 20 overseas countries. With a long-term interaction and nearly half a year of cooperation, Lesaffre found that Nutriera has a very professional R&D team with excellent business capability, which is also the cornerstone of the strategic cooperation agreement between the two parties. Both parties will fully integrate the resources and advantages in R&D, technology and products to launch a comprehensive strategic cooperation, work together to define aquatic animal nutrition and set the standard for the sustainable, ecological and safety-friendly aquaculture, so as to promote feed technology innovation and improve the output of aquaculture.

Dr. Zhang Song said that Nutriera Group was positioned as an international enterprise at the beginning of its establishment. In the process of international development, Nutriera promotes China’s aquatic advanced technologies and products to overseas countries, and shared China’s experience and achievements. On the other hand, Nutriera also actively introduces excellent products and ideas from abroad. Both Nutriera and Lesaffre are leaders in their fields, and their innovation concepts for technology and global mindset are highly consistent. The strategic cooperation of two parties can be described as a strong alliance and will surely achieve new breakthrough in R&D, production and technology.
